About the Role

We are looking for a high-energy, technically savvy Sales Engineer who serves as the "technical conscience" of our sales cycle. In this role, you will partner with Sales Executives to close complex enterprise deals by articulating the value of our software to technical and business stakeholders. You are the bridge between the product and the customer. You must be able to explain complex products to a CTO or business ROI to a CFO. Reports to VP of Sales / Indirectly to VP Product Development.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Discovery & Qualification: Partner with Sales Executives to conduct deep-dive discovery sessions, identifying customer pain points and mapping them to Komodo’s technical solutions.

• Demonstrations: Deliver high-impact, tailored product demonstrations that tell a story, moving beyond "feature dumping" to showing how our solution solves specific business challenges.

• Proof of Concept (POC) Management: Own the technical scoping, execution, and success criteria for Proof of Concepts, ensuring a seamless transition from trial to contract.

• RFP/RFI Response: Lead the technical components of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and security questionnaires, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Feedback Loop: Serve as the voice of the customer to Product Management and Engineering, relaying feature requests and field-observed market trends.

• Industry Presence: Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and webinars as a subject matter expert.


Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Customer Success Engineer in the enterprise software space.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Deep understanding of SNMP monitoring, SCADA/Utility networks, and predictive analytics.

  • Experience with enterprise security standards (NERC CIP, ESP, CIP-007, IEC 62443, SNMPv3, FIPS 140-2 and RBAC) is a strong plus.

• Communication: Exceptional presentation skills. You must be comfortable commanding a room (virtual or physical) and thinking on your feet during Q&A.

• Sales Acumen: Understanding of enterprise sales methodologies and the ability to link technology to revenue goals.

• Education: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience selling into the electric utilities, smart grid, telco, and ISP industry.

• Background in software development or DevOps before moving into sales.

• Experience with demo automation tools (e.g., Consensus, Navattic).


Travel & Location

• This is a U.S.-based role.

• Ability to travel up to 50% for client on-sites and company kick-offs.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
